The Willow Springs School District Board of Education has named Dr. Jon Johnson as the district’s next superintendent.
Dr. Johnson currently serves as principal of Willow Springs Middle School, where he has led the building since 2022 with a focus on strengthening school culture, supporting teachers, and improving student outcomes.
With nearly two decades of experience in education, Dr. Johnson brings extensive leadership experience, including 10 years as high school principal in the Summersville R-II School District and prior administrative roles in Salem R-80 and Crawford County R-I. Throughout his career, he has emphasized strong instructional practices, data-informed improvement, and positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and the broader community.
Dr. Johnson holds a Doctorate in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University, along with graduate degrees in education and educational administration.
“What inspires me most about this role is the opportunity to continue serving a district I know and care deeply about. Willow Springs R-IV is filled with talented educators, dedicated families, and incredible students,” said Johnson. “As superintendent, I will work diligently to strengthen community partnerships, support staff development, and ensure that every student has access to high-quality learning experiences that prepare them for life.”
Board members worked with the Missouri School Boards’ Association to conduct the superintendent search.
Dr. Johnson will officially begin serving as superintendent of the Willow Springs School District on July 1, 2026.
