We’re proud to celebrate Doug Dunn, a Willow Springs graduate from the Class of 1997, whose career in education and athletics continues to make an impact across Missouri.
Doug will serve as the Superintendent of the Newburg School District beginning in the 2026 to 2027 school year. He currently serves as high school principal at Newburg and has dedicated 23 years to education, serving as a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, and superintendent.
On the court, Doug coached the Chadwick Lady Cardinals to the 2005 State Championship and was named Missouri State Coach of the Year in both 2004 and 2005. As a student athlete, he was part of the Missouri State Lady Bears 2001 Final Four team, which was later inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.
In high school, Doug was a member of the tennis program’s first undefeated team in 1997, coached by Terrie Rhoades, a memory that reflects the foundation of excellence he has carried throughout his career.
Doug and his wife, Julie, who serves as an elementary counselor in St. James, have been married 20 years and are proud parents to Ella, Adalyn, and Harper.
We’re proud of Doug’s leadership journey and the way he continues to represent Bear Pride.
Once a Bear, always a Bear. ![]()
