8th Grade students in Mrs. Drake's Project STEM class recently spent some time researching and then building model bridges!
They tested those bridges until failure. The strongest bridge was built by Sadie Parsons. Her bridge withstood a weight of 4144 grams!

"This is my 16th year in education. During my career I have taught middle school social studies, high school history, 8th grade English/Language Arts, 6th grade math, and now I currently serve as the middle school Reading Interventionist. I enjoy spending time with my family. We love traveling and seeing new places every chance we get."

Mrs. Welch and Mrs. Miller took the 6th grade Science Club to the St. Louis Science Center last weekend!
They explored hands on science activities and viewed a show at the McDonnell Planetarium.

- The West Plains Golf Classic has been rescheduled for tomorrow, March 26th. Tee Time will be at 8:30 am at the WP Country Club.
- High school and middle school softball at Norwood today has been canceled.
- High school and middle school baseball against Winona today have been postponed.

Mrs. Green took a group of students to Jefferson City on March 4th for the Youth Art Month's Award Assembly!
We had students represent the Willow Springs Middle School and Elementary School!
Elsie Lemon won Primary Elementary Honorable Mention for the state!
Each teacher gets to pick four works of art to represent their school. The art is displayed at the capital for the month of March.

The 7th grade BETA team consisting of Hayden Pitts, Aubrey Miller, Adalynn Siler, and Avery Foster competed at the Missouri State BETA convention last week!
We had two students qualify for the National BETA convention that is in Savannah Georgia!
Adalynn Siler placed 5th in solo dance and also received a Gold Ticket, which means she was picked to perform in the opening ceremony at Nationals in June!
Avery Foster placed 2nd in digital enchanted photography!
We are so proud of all the students and their hard work! 🥳

Nikki has been a para at Willow for 2.5 years. She pushes in to 6/7 grade social studies, assists Mrs. Cook with special education classes, assists with Adaptive PE and anywhere else she might be needed.
"When not at school, I enjoy watching Chiefs football with my son Mookie, cheering on the WS Bears football teams, card games/trivia, living room dance parties, and going on adventures with my 3 kids."

"I have been teaching for 12 years. I have always taught in the Willow Springs School District. My first 8 years in the district, I taught 4th grade in the elementary, but for the last 4 years I have taught 5th grade science in middle school! Science has always been my favorite subject, and I LOVE getting to teach what I am most passionate about to my amazing students! I love being a teacher in the middle school! I love spending time with my family, cats, chickens, and bunnies! I also love growing plants, produce, and flowers on our small farm!"
