The Willow Springs School District is teaming up with other area SCA schools to take part in the Change for Change Challenge that will benefit the work of a local non-profit, Fields of Dreams Uganda that is headquartered in Cabool.
During the month of January, all classes and grade levels across our district will be collecting change that will be used to assist with educational scholarships at FoDU's partner schools in Uganda.
There will be an overall SCA winning school district and then our school district will do a winning grade level per building!

The Willow Springs High School cheer team recently attended a Missouri State University-West Plains basketball game and were able to watch the Grizzlies' cheer team, which includes 2023 Willow Springs graduate, Drake Marshell!
Drake is pursuing an education in cyber security and is really glad he was able to continue cheerleading after high school!

The Middle School Staff Member of the Week is Mrs. Crystal Hopper!✨
About Mrs. Hopper:
🐻 She has taught a variety of classes over the course of 23 and a half years in education. She started out in 6th grade Social Studies and ELA. The years between those subjects and her position now as Instructional Coach were filled with keyboarding, novels, career education, IGNITE, and computer apps.
🐻 She has spent all 23 and a half years right here at the Willow Springs Middle School.
🐻 In her position, Mrs. Hopper works with the Middle School teachers with our RTI program, she provides support to new teachers as well as any other teacher that might need a little help, and she is working with the elementary this year on our new Student Success Plans.
🐻"I enjoy spending time with my husband, my 2 sons Riley and Eli, my daughter-in-law Amelia and my precious grandson Oliver. We love to spend time camping together and making memories. In my down time, I love to crochet and make gifts for family and friends."

About Mrs. Nickel:
"I have been teaching for over 15 years in a variety of subjects from middle school to high school. I moved last year from Oklahoma to Missouri. I received my Bachelors in History from the University of Tulsa and earned my teacher certification from NSU Tahlequah. I have taught science, history and FACS during my years teaching. I still have two children at home, one in 8th grade and one in 10th grade. I enjoy participating in a variety of hobbies from watching my own kids in their activities, softball and band, to gardening to crafts like ceramics and sewing. I am happy to be a new part of the Willow team and can't wait to see what the future holds."
