Game Day!!!
The track team travels to Hollister this afternoon for their first meet of the season. 3:00 PM
The baseball team wraps up play in the Cabool Classic by taking on the Cabool Bulldogs. They are the first game of the night. Game time 4:00 PM.


Children's author Jefferson Knapp came to visit the Willow Springs Elementary School today!
Mr. Knapp is the author of a series titled The Kingdom at the End of the Driveway. The students had a great time!

Important dates and information for upcoming preschool and kindergarten screenings and registration.
Preschool:
- Screening and registration will be held on Tuesday, April 30 from 8:00 am - 4:15 pm in the preschool building, located at 305 W Fourth St.
- The child must be four years old before August 1, 2024.
- Please contact the elementary office at 417-469-2474 to make an appointment. - Parents are required to bring the child’s official state birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of residency to registration. Proof of residency could be any one of the following: property tax receipt, rent/lease agreement or utility bill.
Kindergarten:

We will be hosting a Registered Youth Apprenticeship Workshop on April 11th from 9:00 am -12:00 pm at the School Board Room, located at 201 W Main St.
This is for area schools and businesses that would like to learn about the program. This training will enable any district to have the tools necessary to build its own Registered Youth Apprenticeship program, no matter the size of the community/district. During this workshop, you will learn the basics of how to implement and customize your own registered youth apprenticeship program.

Tonight girls softball will play at home vs the Dora Falcons. Game time 4:30 pm.
The boys baseball team will travel to Cabool for the Cabool Baseball Classic!! First pitch is at 4:00 PM for game 1. Tonight the Bears will play in Game 2 vs. Norwood


Marlenia Barker, Special Education Director; Melissa Altermatt, Process Coordinator; Amy Pollard, Process Coordinator and Julie Owens, Administrative Assistant were in San Antonio, Texas last week participating in the Council for Exceptional Children Convention and Expo!
Each year at the CEC Convention and Expo, thousands of special education professionals from around the world come together to learn, share, grow, and connect. With hundreds of sessions on just about every topic in the field, the CEC Convention & Expo is THE professional development event for special educators to find research, tips, and strategies you can actually apply to supporting students with disabilities and/or gifts and talents.

The Professional Development Day that was scheduled for April 1st has been moved to April 8th so students can enjoy the eclipse.
There will be no school on Monday, April 8th now instead of Monday, April 1st.

Elsie Lemon won Primary Elementary Honorable Mention for the state!

Students wanting to order a middle school yearbook need to grab an order form from the student information center or in Mr. Kharitonov's room. Prices will raise on April 1st.
Elementary has soft cover yearbooks for $25.00 and hardcover yearbooks for $30.00. Parents can order online this year by visiting https://inter-state.com/order and using the code 82351R. Parents can also send a check written out to Willow Springs Schools/Elementary yearbook. Orders are due by May 10th.
